THE BLACK PATHS
Craigavon was designed and build back inthe 1960s and 70s and one of it's most defining features was the separation of "man and motor".
Craigavon has no footpaths, traffic lights or pedestrian crossings. That's because there's an entirely separate transport system going under and over the road network. Measuring 40km it is the only purpose built active travel network on the island of Ireland – unmapped until now!
BLACK PATHS
Boreen
The Belgians have their bergs, the Italians have their strade bianchi, the French have their cobbles and the USA have their gravel roads.
In Ireland we have something as unique – the most twisted, dense network of roads in Europe. Rough roads. Tough roads. More than enough roads. Roads the width of a cows backside. Boreen is a gravel-style event.
